Time Management Tip

Color Coordination

Those of you who know me know that I am not a fashion genius. However, I would like to share with you a simple way to make life a little easier for you.

You may have noticed that when you are dressed in certain colors or certain types of clothes you feel better and you look better.  On those days, you typically get compliments and you make more sales. If you haven’t already noticed, make it a point to figure out which days are better than others in the way you feel etc. also note, what you were wearing on those days.

Then, as you figure out which are your “magical” outfits, duplicate them. Yes, start wearing the same or similar outfits more often and get rid of those that don’t make you feel good.

Try this and I know that you will feel a difference.  You feel great more often than before and most importantly, deciding what to wear will no longer be a time waster.

Stop Sabotaging Your Success

The only thing that can hold you back from achieving your dreams is you. You’ve heard me say this over and over again. You know it is true. You believe it. Yet, you continue to hold yourself back because you think of all the obstacles that you will have to overcome.

STOP IT! The more excuses you make, the further away you get from achieving whatever it is you want to achieve. The more excuses you make, the more you remind yourself why you cannot do it. Instead, think of why you must do it. Think of all the good reasons why you should make the extra effort and sacrifice it takes to get to the top. Think of the wonderful rewards you will be able to enjoy when you accomplish your goals.

You know the things that you need to change in order to make progress. You know where to find the resources and mentors to help you get there. You know what actions you need to take to make things happen for you.

No go on and do it!

Get on your feet and say Yeah!

In the world of sales, rejection and negativity surrounds us. Clients saying no to your offering. Headlines spreading doom and gloom. Co-workers losing faith and planting bad seeds in you. It’s inevitable.

To combat this negativity and go against the tide, you must have a lot of faith, courage and enthusiasm. That’s why I recommend that you take a moment each day to energize yourself with a simple pep talk. Just like sports teams do.

Stand up tall and stretch your arms up as high as you can and say…”I feel good…I feel great…I feel terrific!  Yeah!!”  Repeat this three times in the morning and three more times in the afternoon! It will recharge you batteries and give you the energy you need to battle it out day in and day out.

If you do it early, you don’t have to do it later!

It has been proven that lingering ideas or to-do’s in your head take up mental space and keep you from performing.  It’s impossible to be doing something to the best of your ability, while thinking in the back of your mind that you should be doing something else.

That’s why the first part of your day should be the most important part of your day. Most important because it is the time when you should complete your most important pending project. It’s the time when you still have a little control over your day. It’s the time when it is usually a little quiet and you will not be interrupted.

And the best feeling about doing the most important thing first thing in the morning is that you are liberated for the rest of the day! You don’t go about your day thinking, “oh, I still have to do x project.” Plus, on the drive home, you feel like you have accomplished something and your day was worthwhile.
